The sunset was one of the best I've ever seen, but I found myself on a lonely beach without much for complimentary subjects so I used a 1 second exposure to capture this wave streaking towards me. It's one of my favorite images. 17-40 at 17mm. 2-stop grad ND filter.

Truly sensational, Marc. This is just beautiful... I can definitely see why it's a favorite! I think we'll be seeing it again next month :o) #3224200Tony Gutowski August 27, 2006
Incredible image, Mark. The more I stare at it the more I sense the movement in the incoming flow of water. #3225728Barbara J. Eads August 30, 2006
Feels like the waves are right in front of you, love it. #3246578Julien September 04, 2006
great effect Marc, thanks full frame eh eh, I like the pink tones and the effect of the waves, but miss something on it.. symetrie in the middle ... let's see,Lalit S. Deshmukh September 26, 2006
It did not feel much when I looked at the thumbnail. But when I enlarged it, I just started feeling dizzy as I focused more. It just felt like those waves are pulling me inside and I really thought I was losing. This is absolutely original picture. Also Marc, hearty congratulations about winning photo on National Geographic. The crater lake photo is stunning.

Marc, if you were tasked to design a sales brochure for God, titled "Heaven & Earth.... In the beginning..." your images would have all been used. This could have been the cover :). Don't know which pic made NG, but will go and check yr gallery! Congrats!! #3464745Gustavo Márquez November 26, 2006
