Thank you Judyann, Spotlights supplied by man, Everything else supplied by nature :) I was not sure if it would be damp down there so I only wanted to take one lens, It was either going to by my wide angle zoom or my 50mm 2.8 prime. I opted for the wide angle but now I want a wide angle 2.8 zoom. lol #3196321Carol Sawyer August 24, 2006
Great capture of the Caverns Mike!!!! #3209852Mike Rubin August 24, 2006
Thanks Carol, They are a sight to see. #3210510Carol Teal August 27, 2006
Beautiful image too, Mike, but I like the inner glow best because of the way the lighting shines through. This is still a great photo though and you did well with this considering all the caverns I have been in do not have great lighting! #3229258Mike Rubin August 28, 2006
Thanks Carol #3230376Lavone Vannoy August 28, 2006
Wow Mike! Amazing!! I bet it was so gorgeous in person too!! :)Mike Rubin August 29, 2006
Thanks Lavone. Think about it, Do people ever sightsee where they live? lol #3237504Lavone Vannoy August 29, 2006
Not always I guess :)...But we JUST mentioned (a couple of weeks ago) about needing to go check them out. I showed your photos of the caverns you photographed to my husband...and he agreed that they really ARE beautiful shots! Wonderful!! :) #3238719Mike Rubin August 29, 2006
The photos do not do the Caverns justice, The size of the is something to see, Some of the formations look like tall waterfalls. You will not regret going to see them. #3241786Lavone Vannoy August 29, 2006
Thanks Mike! We definitely will!! :) I can't waite now (huge smile)!! :) #3241853Mike Rubin August 29, 2006
Bring the widest and fastest lens you have and shoot in RAW, that way you can adjust you white balance, along with other things to get the image closer to what you saw. I shot in Shutter Priority to keep it above my focal length as a way to minimize camera shake.Lavone Vannoy August 29, 2006
(laughing!) I HAVE been on the parkway! Promise (huge smile)...In my gallery there is a photo of three of my little ones sitting in front of the famous Mabry Mill (facing it). It's in B&W. I have traveled the great Skyline Drive all through VA, down to GA. It is simply beautiful!! I have a sunset photo of that too :)Mike Rubin August 30, 2006
I look forward to seeing your shots. #3242903Michael S. Baker September 26, 2006
