I've decided that I am posting what I do in the comments section.

50mm 1.8 lens, manual mode, 1/60sec(WOW), F2.5...VERY HIGH ISO..just can't remember what..I do know it wasn't above 800 though.

This image was VERY underexposed due to I had to be QUICK. She stayed in her room for an hour & WOULD NOT come out. Just kept crying..."I'M NOT GETTING MY PICTURE TAKEN":) SOOOO when she FINALLY decided to put on the tutu & come out...I happened to turn around & there she was...soo I just snapped. SOOO needless to say I didn't adjust my settings accordingly!

Dup the layer..changed it to screen mode(this helps brighten under exposed images). Then flatten. Turned b&w using calculations. Then used curves to brighten a bit more. #496524

Gorgeous this is, her upward look along with holding her hands...is absolutely wonderful. Getting a shot like this is a one in a million!! I adore your crop & angle. The black and white contrast are SUPER as always.
Love how the tutu fills the frame so perfect. That shadow work on the wall & down below behind her...nice!! Good job!!!!! :o) #3119709

It is extremely nice to run across someone so generous with the technical side of things :) Big "props" to you!!!

I LOVE the sweet little look she has. Playing with her fingers. What emotion expressed here! And a HUGE "WOW-FACTOR" in black and white. You kept the tones and shadows perfectly! The contrasts are simply beautiful. I am a very big fan of "a different angle" on photographs. It is quite appealing to the eye and structure. I think you did a marvelous job on your corrections. It is hard sometimes to get a "good" photograph when your subjects don't want you to in the first place :) (been there! ha ha)

I think is is gorgeous Alisha!!! :)
