Red Hypnotism

Description

Second Place in Flower category September 2006 contest. Taken with a 100mm EF Canon Macro Lens. The focus was adjusted slightly to soften the detail of the rose petals. I thought that the softening gave the curves elegance rather than harsh, detailed, crisp lines. By just softening it, I think the shot achieves the best of both worlds: detailed, yet elegant. It also made the depth of field flow with the shot. Please comment.

I like your idea. It is a different take on a often photographed flower.
