Description

Mother and youngster climbing the bird feeder. Sometimes there are three raccoons up at the same time - one on each side and one on top - all trying to reach inside and scoop up the sunflower seeds. They also steal the food I put out for the feral cats. They are just adorable!

This made me laugh....these little buggers can be highly destructive if you have a pond. They eat flowers, plants, fish and throw things around if you don't have any. They even chewed the imitation lilies we've tried...and then they threw they out, knocking everything askew. But, I love the photo. S #3015312

Hi, Kara, Paige, Sharon and Kathy. I am happy that you liked my racoon photo. I have taken over 350 pics and always through my kitchen window as they protect their youngsters by all of them running away. At night I can get very close to the parents. I bought a 100mm-400mm lens which I find very helpful....The racoons give me great pleasure - we feed them regularly, but they decided the sunflower seeds in the small bird feeder are what they really want... Today's entry is of three of them in a crowded situation on the birdfeeder. By the way we have a 53 acre farm and they have plenty of room to destroy as they please. However, they steal all our nectarines! Our citrus fruit survive just fine. Thank you for your interest.

How lucky are you to have these beautiful visitors. I've been trying to get a picture of the bandicoots that live in our yard, but I'm just not quick enough. Very good work=^..^= #3962270
