Soft Colors Of Spring

Uploaded: April 13, 2002 22:18:18

Description

Used shallow DOF on these backlit spring flowers, making the one yellow center peeking out the focus point, to get a soft painterly effect. F5.6 at 1/640sec.

I just love this Heather!! When loading the full version, the sharpness of the yellow pistil stands out and the dof has other petals blurred. When viewing the image as a thumbnail, the shades of violet are more pronounced and has a painterly appearance. The lighting is just perfect!!! #4836

Thank you Dolores. Glad someone liked it...lol (you know who I'm referring too don't you??). Have been playing with selective focus on some flower shots this spring for something a bit different. I have enough tack sharp flower shots that I'm getting kinda bored of them actually! #6906

Gorgeous shot, Heather! This could be my pick for "photo of the day" any day. #6909

Thanks Brian. Appreciate the feedback. Now if I could only get those DPC judges to open their eyes a bit I might actually win something over there this month. #6913

My Daugter was setting here with me and she saw this wonderful photo. She really wanted to know what kind of flowers those are. Even though she is only six years old, she has a good eye, and I must say it is a great photo, one of the best. I hope that you keep up this great work. #6917

Thank you Robert. They are the first spring crocuses I saw this year in Michigan. Thank your daughter for me also....thats wonderful that this one caught her eye. Get that girl a camera and start her out young..lol. I wish I had started at a young age!! #6920

Simply a fantastic flower shot! I love how the yellow pistil is only showing on one of the flowers. The angled composition works wonderfully and I love the detail you have captured. Excellent work! #362255
