Incredible details, Jane. I especially like the placement of the beetle. Many would crop and have the beetle centered. This composition is far more effective as you have it, Jane!!! #2869393

Judy, Heidi, Melissa, Shelly, Stan, Jenny, Bill, Colette, Carla, John & Nadine...THANK YOU all for your positive comments! I shot this as is while sitting in a famous coffee shop on a corner in the middle of town in New Hope, PA (i won't mention the name since this is my 1st experience seeing a "bug")...I was sitting at a table next to this window sill. I never saw a beetle this colorful b4 & had to take his pic! :-) I appreciate you taking the time to let me know your thoughts on this. #2871422

Norman P. Banks June 09, 2006

Great Macro Jane! Nice detail and use of space in the placement of the beetle in frame.

We used to call them Japanese beetles when I was a kid, with the irridescent green color. As long as it wasnt a roach, I'd still eat at this establishment! (Howl)

Jane, I added "Dried" to the feather pic title, as once again your astute observation was "Right On" (smile)
