Thanks, Jeff! You're not kidding about the course. Not that you need help, but you should join me in the next workshop. Would love to see some "old hats" from betterphoto in class with me so I can get to know you better. #6617

Hi Piper,
I would love to take part in the next workshop, but alas, we are in the middle of buying a new house, and I suspect that money is going to be tight--for about the next 20 years. #6618

Thanks, guys! Debbie, you make it sound like the "man in the background" is some lecherous old fart watching my nephew from afar! EEK! Just wanted to clear up that this is actually my dad in the background (also an old fart, actually, but we know him, so it's okay...ha ha) and that he is pushing Liam in the swing. #6677

LOL. I'm a grandmother...I should have made myself more clear. #6704

Adam Bolt April 09, 2002

Piper.. Congrats on you being a finalist this month too. At first I didn't pay much attention to the thumbnail shot. This is sooo much better in the enlarged photo. The detail in the soles of the shoe and the sharp drop off in focus really catch my eye. What focal length/ shutter speed/ appature did you use. My guess is a standard 50 at 1/1000 sec at f2.
Cheers Adam
PS Thanks for all those comments on Dog Gone... makes me feel all warm and gooey inside. #6724

Piper Lehman April 09, 2002

Hi, Adam. Thanks for enlarging! LOL
Took this with an N90s and 28-105 at 28mm and a polarizing filter. The ap was f/3.5 @ 1/1600 sec. (You can see this info imprinted on the bottom right corner of the shot--I forgot to burn this off before I loaded it.)
Thanks for your comments! :)
