Thank you for your comment Des.First I placed the pencil on a piece of white paper against a white wall(used as a background).Then I experimented with various shutter speeds until I came with the above image.To avoid any shadows I was holding a large piece of carton on top of the "setting".I used a mini tripod and I set the WB on AUTO. #2716623
