Meteorite

Uploaded: April 11, 2006

Description

I was taking a photo of this dock one morning when out of the corner of my eye I saw this bright star. Only it was getting brighter and brighter and moving. I quickly moved my camera and began exposing. I almost overexposed because I forgot I was taking a photo due to the fact I was so overwhelmed by this meteorite. It was truly an amazing scene. Mars is visible above the meteorite as well.

You must be really, really fast! All the meteors I've ever seen were only visible for a second or so. Yet you were able to notice the meteor, turn your camera, find it in your view finder, compose with the dock just in the right place, focus, shoot, adjust exposure, and expose again, all in that brief time! I guess it could happen. #2634947
