Hi Kara,
When I first saw the picture, because of the name given to the image, "Designer Curves" I honestly thought it was an intentional picture about "curves," that you were going after a graphic image about lines. So the facial hair on the chin rather bothered me. I thought to myself "Good concept, but why didn't she find someone with totally smooth lines to go with the smooth "violin" or even better make him shave? ;)

Then I went to your gallery to do a little research. I quickly realized it's not really about the curves at all, it's about the man! He's a musician. If I had known that right away, then it would have made all the difference. I then saw your "Leader of the Band" image, I love that one! That picture without a name gives me all the information I need. Here's a great guy with a guitar. Love it. I bet he even has amazing music based on that one picture. The focus on his face is great and the angles. Hmmm, I think you have a talent there in that style.

Also, one more thing to be careful of is to not over-whiten the eyes too much. Whiten on a new layer, then reduce by changing the opacity. Keep it natural looking, especially if you're doing candid-style images. I once worked for a high-end photographer who had quite a lot of portraits returned to her because of unnaturally strange eyes. It took her a couple of years to stop doing it.

I truly hope you take all this the right way. If I didn't love the "Leader . . ." picture so much I wouldn't have written anything. You've had tons of positive comments so, I just wanted to give you a little more to think about and to grow on. (I am new to this forum, so forgive me if I'm only supposed to say "good job," but I would love to share with you what I have learned and heard from my mentors my whole life in order to make me a better photographer).
