Description

The Better Photo community of people are a great bunch. I say hello to all the great people I met here and also thanks for all your help, advice and encouragement.

Unfortunately, the Better Photo forum and business model leaves much to be desired. The Better Photo forum software is extremely outdated, mostly unusable and very antiquated when compared to other forums. The Better Photo business model, with its new total emphasis on marketing pro critiques, is not what better photo was when I joined it: a forum of discussion, encouragement and help intended to help photographers grow and improve.

For that reason, I have abandoned better photo. You can join me on photography-on-the.net which is truly a community of sharing and helping. You can view my photos at pbase.com/jumbo_photography.

Thanks to all who helpe me grow and improve. /Dan

Thanks for the comments on my Bee Picture Dan. I really am humbled looking at your gallery. You have such a talent. I hope one day to know how to use all the settings on my camera. Ive played around with Iso and F number before, but havent really had much success with them in any of my shots. I use the presets usually. This is really an awesome photo you have here. It sure looks like a painting. Are premium galleries worth it? #409602

Dan C. March 16, 2006

Thanks for the encouragement, James. Premiums are debatable. You get more options, bigger thumbnails, and more images which is nice. On the other hand, if you are not a professional photographer (as I am not), then they are only for vanity. But it does provide you with a connection to other people with similar interests whom you can ask to view pics, make comments, etc., which is probably the biggest benefit of all

I feel uncomfortable accepting compliments from others, such as yourselves, whose art I judge to be superior to mine. That in itself makes your comments much more meaningful and encouraging. Thank you. #2698333

Mitch, glad to. I don't remember which filter specifically because this was one of those types of images we all play around with. However, I can narrow it down. It is obviously not buzz, you can tell because of the appearance. So I will take a pretty solid guess that it's probably either the scatterlight or aetherize, with my guess leaning toward the later. Hope that helps.
