Description

This was taken in the Cascades in the Pacific Northwest. This was taken on a day where I got to try on my new snow shoes. For most of the day it was foggy but near the end of the day some of the sun broke through a small area. I tried to take this shot with a different perspective so that it might be a little different then the usual images with the trees being in different perspective to the peak in the background

Congratulations on your 1st Place Win! I just wish I knew where in the Cascades you managed to find this fantastic vantage point! #2578446

Marc E. Adamus March 26, 2006

It's beautiful but faked. This isn't a "vantage point" it's a manipulation. It's not landscape photography but landscape art in my opinion. You can't find this place, it dosen't exist as rendered here naturally. #2578512

Marc E. Adamus March 26, 2006

Let me elaborate. Without any technicals or explainations provided, all I can see is trees that don't connect with anything, obvious cloning below the mountain, unnatural tonal separation between upper and lower frame and distracting halos around the peak. This leads me to believe that this is either a sloppy exposure blending job or more likely a composite of two or more different images. Being more forthcoming with technical info would reduce the need for speculation. #2578566
