I saw on Stan's gallery wehre he had inverted the sky on one of his pictures and I wanted to try that. So here it is, inverted. I also darkened it slightly and increased the contrast. That's it. Let me know what you think. About eihter or both. Thanks. Mary. #2212950Mary N C. Taitt December 22, 2005

WOW ~ great capture, the colours of the buildings remind me of Goshka's Polish towns.Cathy M. Gromball December 22, 2005
Beautiful photos, Mary! I love both of them, but I think that with the darkened sky, the colors seem more saturated, and the whole image becomes more dramatic. Wonderful work!Cathy :) #2213374
Susie Peek-Swint December 22, 2005
I think I like this more dramatic version ~ the sky really highlights the buildings ... both are great though! #2213803Jonna Bergström December 22, 2005

I have never seen photos of this country! It looks like a photographers paradise :-) Very nice work Mary! #2215565Mary N C. Taitt December 23, 2005
Thank you Stan, Kate, Cathy, Susie, Jonna, Goshka, Jen, Amalia, Jim, and Jill for your attention and kind comments! HAPPY HOLIDAYS! Mary :-)Yes, Kate, I accidentally inverted the hills, maye the history brush would bring it back--or the close stamp fromt he orginal. I haven't had time to do that and I thought it just looked sort of like part of the dramatic sky.
SLOVENIA is a gorgeous and unspoiled country with castels and churches and frescos and mountains and museums and very few tourists and almost no crime.
I highly recommend it, maybe I'll submit more pix.
I'm going to try to add one of a fresco--not one I'd submit for a contest, just a different flor of Slovenia. The woman in the picture is novelist and short story writer Pam Painter (with her eyes closed). #2216945

Lovely colour and composition. Really nice photo. #2255835Susan Jane Allen January 06, 2006
Very nice. Like both versions. What struck me most about this photo and prompted me to comment and read the discussion were the pastel colours which match nicely with the blue sky to create a very delicate, light and subtle overall effect. The inverted clouds make it more dramatic, enhance the feeling of a rainy day and give more meaning to the title. Very nice too. If you want to keep the hills out, you might want to find some way to diminish the abrupt contrast of the white. But like the hills. #2257448Bill Houghton January 18, 2006
