A Blackbird and Moonlight Serenade

Uploaded: July 06, 2017 | Entered: July 06, 2017 11:07:23

Description

A blackbird sits on an electrical wire. The moon is shining in a cloudy sky, so not much light reaches the foreground of this image. The mood is quiet and mysterious and the trees are placed in silhouette. Two blackbirds are flying in the moonlight and will probably end up perching for the night in the bare tree in the right foreground.
Original image of the blackbird on the electrical wire was taken in my garden in Southern Oregon. The image of the moon was also taken in my garden and was added as a composite image by using layers in Photoshop CC. I used a texture to enhance the background. The trees, some additional clouds and flying birds were added with a Photoshop brush. The final image was processed in Nik Color Efex Pro and Topaz Glow.
