What A Thousand Words Couldn't Express

Description

This waterfall is in a park southwest of Zagreb, Croatia. My father climbed this mountain in WWII after 5 weeks of being MIA behind Nazi lines along the Sava River. He was with 3 other survivors from his crashed plane. The pilot and copilot survived but were separated from this small group. The rest were shot and killed by Nazi's and one was taken prisoner. This photo is for my dad and all other Veterans... both for survivors and for those who lost their lives. The face is an architectural feature in Venice, Italy. The "cloth" in the mouth represents the inability of Veterans to verbally make us understand what they went through. <3

In my description, I must make a correction... this park is about 50 miles Southeast of Zagreb. #1659446

Thank you so much! My only regret now is that I didn't add something in the image to give it a sense of scale. Oh well, live and learn... #11481749

Congratulations on your well earned Gold Winner, Linda. Your description is another excellent reminder of the sacrifices so many in the military have made for their countries. #11502400
