Trinidad Memorial Lighthouse

Description

The lighthouse at Trinidad head is a memorial to those who were lost at sea. There are postings along the wall, on concrete, memorializing these people who were lost. This was a very moving experience to view this memorial and when I was finished walking thru the area, I feasted my eyes on the view of Trinidad Bay. There were many small boats anchored below and the day was breezy but sunny. Later as I viewed the lighthouse from the pier below, it was so windy that I thought, that I, would be lost at sea. Trinidad is located on the bluffs facing the bay and is the oldest city on the Northern California coast. The lighthouse was constructed and lit in December, in 1871.

Great image with all the details including the text description. I am a light house fan too. Was this a time exposure? the water looks like a 1/15th or slower shutter... Looks great. #1659884

Thanks Randall for the visit and great comment. It was too windy for a slow shutter speed. I completed the photo processing in Photoshop's oil paint filter to get this effect. I would have put that into the description but ran out of room in the small box. #11482611
