How did you do this? I've seen a lot of pictures using water droplets and am amazed by the clarity and creativity. I'd love to try it too, but I don't know how!

Great shot, by the way, I love all the little reflections! #2122120

Cool one! There is some spots in those balls you could fix? I would have gone brighter colors (neon?) for more striking look on a bg. #2122200

Thank you all for your kind comments. Can't wait to see your drop shot Kirsi, I love neon colours:-) I just don't have any with an appropriate pattern in my house:-)

Carly and Goshka, you need to get some glycerine, an eye dropper and a piece of glass. Place glass on frame about 16 - 24 inches then place what ever you wanted reflected in the drops underneath. Use a macro lense or equivalent and away ya go:-) Make the drops after testing one for DOF and aperture value. This is just one method there are other ways to do this but this is the way I did this one. If you look in other galleries some people hang water drops off of cherry stems or the like and place the pattern they want behind about 16 inches from the drops. Keep in mind that the pattern will be upside down this way as in a water drop on a branch in the forest:-) I hope that helps....can't wait to see your drop shots:-) #2122726

Wendy Stevenson September 19, 2006

Thanks Bill. It's more of a magnification than a reflection as the pattern is about 12" below the glass with the drops on it:-) Give it a try - it's fun!! #3329286
