Description

Actually, this poor Great Horned Owl was caged in small enclosure at John James Audubon Center, his first home in America. I suspect the three owls in the enclosure were injured, but I still felt sorry for them as they paced to and fro on their shelves and perches. Wildlife is abundant in the 175-acre sanctuary; it is a gorgeous place. Anyway, to photograph this owl, I pressed my lens right up against the wire cage wall. But the wire walls surrounding him were still visible. So I masked him and put him against a dappled sky I had photographed earlier. The golden "moonlight" was a product of a series of plugins, as the photo was taken in midday sunshine.

His beautiful eyes are what have captured my attention. You did wonderful job on the eye and the rest as well. Neat story and a bit sad too! maybe he will get better and have some freedom in his upcoming days?? Or mate and make new babies in captivity that can grow and be free?!! :) #11322750
