Description

The farm that has been in my family since the mid 1800's went up for auction this past Thursday. My sister brought in her dog Claire for the big day. Needless to say many tears were shed, and Claire - being a sensitive girl, spent the day darting around trying to comfort all of us. As things were wrapping up I found her in the machinery shed fighting to keep her eyes open. What a good girl.

She looks sad too. Sorry to hear about your family farm. But you will always have the special memories from past times. Excellent capture of your beautiful girl. Good to see you posting too. #1592468

Sweet capture on a bittersweet day, Julie. It's a shame about having to sell a farm with so much family history. Life isn't always fair, is it? Hold on to your good memories! #11168108

She looks like such a darling! Tough job trying to keep people's spirits up and she certainly deserved a good rest. #11168259

Thank you so much Tammy, Mary, Ann and Jo Ann, Claire is a sweetheart, we all love her, and she did deserve a big rest! And the farm IS bittersweet, many farmers bidding, which was great, but the loggers had deeper pockets, sigh.. #11168375

Oh, that sweet but so tired face says it all - it must've been a day of many mixed emotions - I know how much the farm meant to all of you....but glad to see you back here at BP! Nothing like a camera in hand to make you forget the things you don't want to particularly keep in the forefront. Wonderful story-telling capture of Claire, J - the border is perfect for this one! #11168568

Oh, that tired face is so precious!! I feel so bad that you had to sell the farm! It must have meant so much to you all, but grab that camera and keep really busy with it for a while, to help keep your mind off the loss and to keep moving forward! And give Clair a big hug for me!! #11168645
