Sunrise D.C.

Uploaded: March 22, 2014 07:17:58

Description

While the equinox was Thursday, the morning was heavily fogged in. I went to Arlington Cemetery Friday morning instead, for sunrise over the Capitol and monuments. (The Capitol, Washington Monument and Lincoln Memorial sit in a straight line together, which forms an axis that meets the sunrise on the horizon, on the equinox. However, where you would need to stand in Arlington Cemetery to "stack" all 3 buildings back-to-back (about 50 yards north of my position here) has large old trees blocking that view.)

Incredible sunrise, Chris! I like the focus on the sky with enough of the buildings below to know where we are looking. I hope to see D.C. in person some day! #11005843
