I like this a bunch! The perspective makes this! Great shot! #1547691

Oh I really like this one, the leading line and your placement of him is very nice. great job! I take it this was from your motel or a balconey #10866660

Thanks, ladies!

I shot this last week in NYC. I was walking the Highline Park (If you go to NYC, you need to check out the Highline). I saw this street and loved the mix of bricks and pavement. As I was working out a composition, I saw this guy coming and waited for him to cross out of the shadow. Normally, I would have wanted him much lower in the frame with some room to move, but I really like the feel that is created with him about to walk out of the image. I think it adds some mystery.

By the way, there is a reason behind this image. Dale will have to fill you in on that. . . #10866676

This is a winning composition, Jeff. Love it. To see more of Jeff's shots that day, check out his blog. #10866704

Hmmmm-well this is interesting. Can't wait to hear about the reason.

I like this, but for some reason, I am really disoriented by it-where is down?

I like the composition too, and the lack of color, even though it is not BW. Very cool. #10867051

IMHO, one of your most effective diagonal compositions, Jeff. I'm not even sure B&W could improve this. #10867200

Artistry at its finest. Daring composition. Strong impact. Love it. #10867271

This one makes me a little woozy looking at it, but I think it a great comp. Love the texture of the pavers. Actually I like everything about this shot. Nice work Jeff! #10867663

This so works for me too, Jeff. The guy walking out of the image adds so much to it for reasons I can't describe except that there is a story in there somewhere. #10867671

Thanks, everyone! I really like this image and I'm glad I'm not alone.

So, here's the story. A couple of weeks ago, I wrote a blog post with some images from a trip to NYC. The images were pretty typical of my style. Dale saw the post and responded with a comment along the lines of "I wonder what you'd see if you looked down?" So, while in NYC again last week, I looked down. It was a much harder challenge than I had anticipated and it forced me to really think about what I was shooting. I also had to work harder to find compositions and subjects that worked. All told, I came home with a handful of decent images. Feet were an obvious subject. My two favorite images were this one and another one that was similar with a pedestrian walking his bike. I'll post them a little later when I'm home form work. #10867914

LOVE those foot shots! My favorite is the first one-looks like a throwback to the 50s for some reason...

And everyone, do check out Jeff's Alberta Skies video-I love how you got the camera moving, especially under the barbed wire fence. Very cool... #10868027

I do like the angle of this one, I really loved your video of Alberta Skies. Amazing footage! Did you ever get one from our trip to the mountains this summer? #10869327

Jeff E Jensen October 12, 2013

Thanks, Beth. I haven't gotten around to working on the stuff from the Utah trip yet. Someday. #10869517
