Description

Freighter on the Detroit River - sailing under the Ambassador Bridge (connecting Detroit with Windsor, Ontario, Canada). 23767 0202 tp

Taken in September 2011. It has been chosen by the Detroit Historical Society to create a 10-foot interactive mural. As part of the renovation of the Dossin Great Lakes Maritime Museum, it will hang on their wall for the next 15 years. I'm still shell-shocked over this honor!

Thanks, Barbara. Dossin is the museum that houses the anchor from the Edmund Fitzgerald. It is located on our island Park (Belle Isle) - on the opposite side from which I shot this picture. #10552241

OMG, I am so thrilled for you Kathy and this fabulous honor for your majestic image! Did someone have smelling salts for you when you found out? :-) I bet I know where to find you once the project is finished! Outstanding girl friend! #10570959

lollllllllllll. Joannie, they are already planning a field trip for the residents of my Senior/Handicap Apartments. I'm almost scared to think of it too much, for fear of jinxing it. #10571121

Cool capture, Kathy and what an honor to see your image hanging on the museum wall for the next 15 years, just about the time when I plan to visit Windsor, lol!!!

Oh, my goodness - are you really coming to our "neighborhood"? How long will you be here?

Kathy, I was just kidding, no near plans to visit Canada or States. I had stayed in Windsor for about two weeks though, back in the winter of 2003. Alas, I was not into photography then. Your image brought back old memories;)

Kathy, this image must be spot on sharp to be blown up that large. Congratulations again... what an honor. #10671206

I was really worried about that, Sharon (kept waiting for them to tell me, "Sorry, can't be done.) To see the picture of it already part of the museum's work in progress is a thrill. It's really happening! #10671281

YES, PINCH YOURSELF ... IT IS REALLY HAPPENING!!! I can only imagine how you are feeling but it makes me smile so it must be really good. :)
