Great Egret

Ardea alba
This youngster is drying after becoming water-logged following a fall from the nest. It took about four hours to finally work his way out of the drink onto dry land.

Wow! You actually saw him fall? And then spent four hours tracking his progress? Wow...again! Wonderful detailed capture, and great composition. The back-lit bill against the black shadow is wonderful. #10514361Tammy Espino January 16, 2013
Poor little guy!! A great capture!! #10518577Jim Baines January 26, 2013
I did not actually witness the fall, but spent the big part of the day, easily 6 or 7 hours, with an eye on this little fella. While doing numerous other things, of course. This is a place you cannot walk into for 30 minutes ... it grabs you and holds you! If you arrive after breakfast and have will-power, you'll be home for supper!! #10538899Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
