Very interesting, There has got to be a great story there, Jeff I keep going back to look at it. #10241603

Wow-how did you do that? It is really cool. I am assuming someone was swinging a light stick or bulb for a few minutes based on the movement of the stars here. I'd love it if you could share a little info on your perfect orb... Way cool!!! #10241853

Outstanding, as always. I really like the red color of the guard station. What a great b/g for the orb light. There is just enough light to softly illuminate the grass and trees. Just wonderful. #10242441

Thanks, ladies! This was on the last night of our recent camping trip. I'd passed this cabin every day knew it would be a great spot for an orb.

Elaine - the orb is created using a gadget that I built out of some LED Christmas lights and some scraps of tubing and pipe that I found in my garage. You basically just swing it in circles and rotate around a center point. My orbs are nowhere near perfect, but they've gotten a ton better with practice. I'll have to go back and check the data, but I believe this was about a 2 minute exposure. #10242613

His curiosity peeked by a trail of Reese’s Pieces leading off into the forest,JJ recalled how ET the Extra Terrestrial in a movie filmed exactly thirty years earlier had followed just such a trail. It was nearly dark but he summoned up his courage and with camera at the ready moved quietly through the trees until he was startled to come across a small cabin with a strange glowing, globe-like object next to it. Feeling an eerie presence JJ hid behind a tree and watched as the door to the cabin opened and a strange non-human figure appeared accompanied by a young boy. Straining his ears JJ heard the boy say ‘So you have come back for me at last!’ as the two stepped inside the globe. With shutter set at burst mode' JJ fired off a dozen shots as through the viewfinder he tracked the globe as it lifted noiselessly up through the trees. His last shot was of the globe silhouetted against a full moon and then it was gone.
JJ knew that he would have a lot of explaining to do when he showed these images to his phriends but inexplicably when he loaded the card onto his computer when he arrived home, it was completely blank except for the one image of the globe. He decided to keep very quiet about what he had really seen but would just invent some story about having constructed a gadget with Christmas tree lights. Most believed, him but one of the older guys just smiled and said nothing…………………!

Now, Peter, you almost got the story right. There were actually two images that survived. #10243052

This is a really fun light painting. The red cabin makes the shot for me, but the sky is also very dramatic. Well done Jeff! #10243068

Love how spooky this one is...takes me back to being a teenager watching scary movies with my friends then staying up all night because we were too freaked out to sleep! lol Of course I don't know the ins and outs of this type of photography so it all looks good to me. Have you thought of a square crop...might work for this one. :~) #10244162
