Dodgeball Faces

Description

Three girls wait their turn at 'Dodgeball' (WOODCUT applied to image).

There are many 'bizarre tales' concerning the origin of dodgeball.

Modern dodgeball came to exist in the U.S. after WWI.

In 1996, the International Olympic Committee recognized DodgeBall as a serious sport and the game was played for the first time internationally at the Olympic Summer Games in Atlanta, Georgia. The U.S. team lost to the Netherlands.

The 'National Amateur Dodgeball Association' {NADA} holds seven tournaments a year.

The largest game of dodgeball was played by 4,979 participants at the University of Alberta on February 3, 2012. The longest game of dodgeball was played on April 5–6, 2011 at the Washington Avenue Armory in Albany, New York by the teams Hometown Dodgeball and Albany Dodgeball. The game lasted for 31 hr 11 min 13 sec.
