I'm not sure if you achieved what you were looking for, but it's not working for me. I do think that the portrait by itself is very nice. #1448733Peter W. Marks March 10, 2012
I am going to agree with Jeff here. Pretty girl, nice pose but those diagonal line somehow don't look right. before I fully opened the image and read the title I thought I was looking at her standing under an outdoor shower at the swimming pool. #10031848Michael Kelly March 10, 2012
Interesting Sue, but I find I agree with Jeff and Peter. To me the lines look like a shower rather than streaks of sunlight if that was your intent. I also find the color off quite a bit on this one to the blue side. This is one I might start over and give another try. #10032091Anthony L. Mancuso March 10, 2012
I agree with the other guys but I will say a couple positive things too..I like the pose, comp and backlighting...I'd be interested in seeing the original image and hear about what you were going for and what steps you took in this edit... #10032345Sue C. Cole March 10, 2012
Well, it's funny how one see's an image completely different. I have uploaded the original. I had cropped this because I didn't really care for the sun spot and the two birds seems distracting on her tank top. I did like the sunstreaks but perhaps over enhance them. #10032579Sue C. Grrr...try again :) #10032581Aimee C. Eisaman March 11, 2012
I do like your second post better, but I see the sunstreaks as a distraction instead of a postive addition to a beautiful portrait. You know I'm all about artistic enhancements in portraits, but the placement of these sunstreaks doesn't sit well with me. The sun spot and her shirt don't bother me nearly as much. :~) #10033024Sue C. Cole March 11, 2012
Well, I still like it...but back to the drawing board:) #10033549Rita K. Connell March 11, 2012
ok I going to be the odd man out. I really like the crop and the feel to image, even the tones. I just think you need to tone down the sun rays alittle. I think its a fun one I like her eyes. #10033884Aimee C. Eisaman March 12, 2012
Sue is this all natural or did you add it in? #10034573Debbie E. Payne March 12, 2012
Sue --I like the original best but would consider toning down the rays a bit. I like the backlighting on her hair and the warmth there. Perhaps a tad of warmth throughout the image ... You always come up with some very unique images and this one is no exception. I'd keep working on this one if I were you. #10035132Michael Kelly March 12, 2012
Sue, I think the original version is better than your first post. The color is more natural and the light looks more like light than water. I would go with your first crop, but with the colors shown in the original or even warmed up from there and perhaps a bit more tone down of the light rays. I think this could work. An unusual image, but of a beautiful model with nice comp. #10035359Sue C. Cole March 12, 2012
Aimee, The original is natural, I added to the sunstreaks above.Should have maybe toned it down a bit. Thank you Rita, Debbie and Michael. I will continue to work with this but I just walked in the door from work and am wiped out. I will work on it Wednesday. Thanks for your suggestions. #10035469Beth Spencer March 13, 2012
I am going with the original. The model is gorgeous and maybe just toning down the sun streaks would help some. I found the sun spot in the second one to be a big distraction. #10037265Aimee C. Eisaman March 14, 2012
