OMG those shoes on that wooden walkway - looks like an invitation for a disaster.Love the bright red against the grayed wood. I think this one fits the challenge well. #1447401

This is really nice, Sue! I love the contrast of the fancy shoes against the rustic boardwalk. Very cool! #10022003Dale Hardin March 04, 2012
Sue, this is wonderful. What a great take on the challenge. Love the fact that everyone is beginning to think outside the box.Critique wise, have only one suggestion. It would have been nice to have just a bit more DOF so that the left foot was in focus also.
But that's a minor thing and doesn't take away from this fine image. #10022145

"OMG" indeed as Mike said, but for a different reason. Sue, the image and title has now got me singing that Nancy Sinatra song from 45 years ago One of the stanzas goes like this:These boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you."
Boots, shoes, those spikey heels tell the same story! #10022997

Love this! The red is great! And where the shoes are in the image makes a great composition :) #10023147Debbie E. Payne March 05, 2012
Great picture, Sue. The shoes are perfectly placed for a wonderful composition. Nothing to change. Great color and nice variety of textures as well. #10023376Aimee C. Eisaman March 05, 2012
O boy now is this someone you know that has such a talent? I really like how the red pops in this image. Like Dale I do wish there was more DOF to include both feet, but other than that I really like the composition and overall idea. :~) #10023518Rita K. Connell March 05, 2012
this is a great shot Sue, love it. I think it could use a little tonal contrast. great capture! #10023525Beth Spencer March 05, 2012
I really like this shot but those shoes look really scary to me. I could see a broken ankle or leg in my future if that was me. #10023901Anthony L. Mancuso March 05, 2012
Interesting shot Sue...like Aimee, I'm wondering if this is someone you know or a candid...I haven't done this in a while, and I know some people in the club like this effect and others don't care for it, but I think it work well as a selective color image, leaving the shoes and pants or just the shoes colored while making the rest of the image B+W. #10023913Michael Kelly March 05, 2012
I am neutral on SC but believe it should be used very judiciously. That said I think this would be a great candidate for the SC treatment. #10023960Rita K. Connell March 05, 2012
I agree SC treatment #10024005Beth Spencer March 06, 2012
I think that would be really interesting to see too. #10025748Teresa H. Hunt March 06, 2012
Great image! I love the pop of red from the shoes. And yes on that walk way I'd think twice about those heels.I'm curious to see the SC idea. #10026106

Thanks everyone, first off Peter, that song has now been stuck in my head everytime I open this image :-) I'm not sure the boots Nancy wore were this dangerous though lol. Aimee, yes this is the talented young lady in the B&W shot dancing you all saw earlier, she is amazing. I will be photographing one of her dance performances in April so you will see more of her. Tony I did a couple of SC one with just shoes and one with pants and shoes. I'm with Michael on SC very neutral so you tell me if it works :) I don't do this much so hope I lived up to you vision of it. I kind of like the green grass and texture of the wood. Someplace you wouldn't really think these shoes would be. This was a planed shoot, this walk way goes for miles out in swampy marsh lands. #10029653Dale Hardin March 08, 2012
Not a big fan of SC and in this shot that still holds true. Like the original much better. #10029714Beth Spencer March 09, 2012
I like the first one with the red shoes the best.Jeff E Jensen March 09, 2012
Yeah, I mess the colors of the boardwalk. #10030485Aimee C. Eisaman March 09, 2012
My vote goes to the original...going to have some great shots of her coming up I'm sure! :~) #10030702Michael Kelly March 09, 2012
Well thought it would be a good candidate, but I also prefer the original. #10030716Anthony L. Mancuso March 09, 2012
I actually like the SC version with the pants and shoes colored.. #10031054Teresa H. Hunt March 09, 2012
I like the original and the SC with just the shoes :) #10031164Rita K. Connell March 11, 2012
