Wow...I haven't seen or heard of this butterfly since I was in fourth grade...over 50 years ago... Wonderful! #1363844

Thanks for taking the time to comment Michelle.

I have a "thing" for butterflies, and this one is very interesting.
Adults hibernate, and can sometimes be found on warm sunny days in the winter.
There are only two broods per year, but they have a (relatively) long lifespan.
It is considered a prize find in England, where it is known as the Camberwell Beauty. #9315416
