Snow Limbs

Uploaded: February 15, 2011

Description

Out our dining room window.
The freshly fallen snow was loosly laying on the shrub and I waited for the light on the warm side of the window, opening and closing it several times as it teased me into the cold. Still, my favorite part is the swishing shadows from the base of the tree.

Interesting and effective POV/comp...I, too, like the shadows...it certainly looks cold but is still an excellent and very appealing image. Nicely done, Marty! #1353408

Terrific composition and lighting to catch those shadows, Marty! Looks as if you've got more snow left now than we do. #9242427

Terrific image my friend, great work with light and shadows. We are having a streak of spring here, up in the 70's tomorrow, maybe that will finish off the snow. #9242595

Well seen and beautiful captured, Marty! The light, color and shadows are just perfect!! You have the snow, we have the wind! Several times in the last few days we've had no power for hours. Spring come-on!! #9242831

I could tell by this picture that this was fresh snow. It always has the cloud like look to me. A pretty creative way to show it off with the brances of the tree and how that gives the picture beautiful balance. I to love how the snow lays on top of the branches. Gorgeous work my friend. #9243105

Love the pov here Marty. Ah the silence of the snow sifted carefully about the trunk :-) #9247382

I agree, Marty, about the shadows. I love the subtle tones that give the snow texture in the image, and the contrast of the bark of the shrub. #9250206

Soft, newly fallen, pristine and fluffy - the best kind of snow. The shadows are beautiful, Marty - but there's much to be said about the dark bare branches reaching up against the snowy backdrop...wintertime poetry for the eyes! :) #9257469
