Stars Trails At Nubble Light

Uploaded: December 30, 2010

Description

Cape Neddick,York ME.
Drove for 6 hours RT right after work to photograph Nubble with it's annual Xmas lights..
You can imagine how I felt when I saw Nubble without lights after driving for 3 hours.Waited, but no lights.
This is the best photo I go from my trip last night.
Camera wasn't focusing in auto and manually was imposible because of the darkness at the light and surroundings..
This is not my first attempt to get the Christmas lights,oh well there is always next year.
Manual tripode cable release F/6.3 106.6sec ISO1250 24mm CWAverage.No effects,no filters.
Have a great day,everyone.

Exif: F Number: 6.3, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1066/10 seconds, Flash: did not fire., ISO: 1250, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 24.00 mm, Model: NIKON D300

....morning to you Maria..oh my goodness...no lights, not again...although this is a wonderful image with the star lit sky! What's up with the lighting of Nubble? Who's n charge? You've got to call ahead & let them know your coming so they're sure to have it all lit up for you!!!! #1339675

Mia! Maybe no Christmas lights (and I know that was the whole purpose of you going there!) but this is wonderful! Wonderful nighttime work - Nubble glows warmly and richly and the star trails add a touch of magic. I love this! #9132234

Outstanding effort Maria and thanks for sharing this image with us. Hopefully you can find a solution so when you go back next Christmas you can see them on! Jeff #9132295

Love your determination, girl. Like last year, there may be no Christmas lights on, but you managed a great photo. I thought the star streaks was snow falling, but noticed some colors in there. A beautiful night shot, Maria. #9132876

Gorgeous capture with those pretty stars, Maria!! There must have been a ton of snow, too!! Looks sooo pretty and peaceful! Its hard to imagine, that they would take them down so early, maybe they had an electrical problem or something. #9134073

Not sure why this didn't get an EP
I think it is beautiful

I was at Nubble last year the end of January and the lights were still on.
Maybe you won't have to wait until next year #9135774
