Hey Joan! I like the pano view here. Compositionaly this shot works for me. The buildings all see to be standing straight and that's what I would focus on for an image like this. I could be wrong though because I didn't pull a screen shot and check so Mr.Level might say otherwise. LOL

The halos around the buildings are probably due to your treatment in editing. I think I would keep the bottom of the photo with the water as is, but would try to edit the top with more of a backed off approach to try avoiding the halos. :~) #1334160

Yes, this is one that just didn't translate well to BP. It looks great on my computer.... despite the haloing LOL. I have so many bland boring dull pictures taken from this perspective over the years, and was trying for the dramatic! But I will start from scratch and see if I can obtain similar results without the halo. I probably over sharpened, trying to get more detail from the buildings. This was taken from a LONG way away! #9089506

Joan - I really like this shot of the pano and I like all the different layers of waves that carry us through the image. There is only one thing that I see that could be an issue with judges and that is the lighter blue over the third set of small builings from the right of the image. I imagine it is a very slight cloud formation but because there are no other clouds in the sky, I am over-noticing this difference. It could be cloned or not. I've started to back off from some of my high passes just because of this reason. #9089556

I agree with the others on the halos around the buildings. I'm not seeing the cloud issue that Debbie is talking about, but I'm on my work computer so I just might not be seeing it.

I was going to suggest taking a bit off of the bottom of the image, but I really like the bit of reflections that you are getting in the bottom left corner. #9089684

while I like the pano and the comp the image does have some issues that already have been addressed. This is one where supplying the original might get you some better input about how to get the most from it. #9089813

I like it and think it is worth the effort to take out some of the small issues mentioned. I do not see the lighter area mentioned by Debbie either. The halo may come from too much high pass but can also be introduce by reducing highlights too much on a large flat area like the sky.

I like the crop as is and think the reflections at the waters edge really add to the shot. #9089820

I really like this shot. And I think the pano works well. The only issue I notices was the halo's around the buildings, and you've already gotten input on that. I look forward to seeing your edits. :) #9089939

Nothing wrong with this image Joan other than the halos which I wouldn't have noticed and I can't see the lighter clouds that Debbie mentioned.
I wouldn't want to live here though. No cliffs, no fishing boats, no interesting features, just developers' quick profits! Oh yeh, and no English village pubs. lol #9091295

Debbie I am also not sure about the cloud you are seeing.... is it the pelican over the water near the far end?

Thanks Jeff... considered cropping the small band of sand at the bottom, which would leave the reflection intact, but left it as an anchor... but it really could go.

Dale, I am severely running out gigs for this months wifi quota... so can't upload anything more until the 16th arggh

Thanks Michael and Theresa... I will address the halo's and upload next week.

Actually Peter, No english pubs, but a really nice Irish one named Kelly's. Definitely no cliffs, as it is a barrier island (5 feet or less above sea level. HUGH amount of fishing boats and shrimpers... just none in the scene. I find the dunes extremely interesting as they are everychanging, and also an amazing array of birds are to be found on the island. Lastly... probably the least commercial island in the americas.... 35 miles of pristine beaches. Population of the island is 2500 which raises to 10,000 over the winter months. This hotels you see are just on the gulf side... and there really aren't all that many compared to other places. The island is only 3 streets wide... and the otherside is funky restaurants, bars and cute little houses! It actually is a fun place. Too windy tho LOL #9092541

I love the POV of the waves you got for this, the reflections in the sand and the pelican. The buildings have already been addressed, and look forward to your edits when you can do them.

Barrier islands are amazing beautiful places. The ones in North Carolina are also ever changing. Mother nature is trying to make another inlet thru a very populated area. So far the ocean has removed 4 beach houses. #9094005

Hi Joan;
I'm late getting to my posting/commenting. I could not add anything more than what has already been addressed. It is a lovely image and I especially like your pov. Great colors.
