Autumnal Wave

Description

Ricketts Glen State Park, PA
A wave goodbye to the Fall. On Monday this park closed for the Winter. This year, however, I found a partner to climb around the ice with, and look forward to the experience. Visitors in Winter must register at the office, have a partner, 30' rope, crampons and ice axes ~and, in our case a camera and tripod.

You're braver than I'd be, Marty -- that park has some pretty rough terrain to put it mildly! Wonderful composition and color on this one with the mossy rock managing to peek through the beautiful leaves! #1333837

Good eye to spot this one...nicely composed...love that spot of green among so much "brown." Be careful on those rocks. You don't want to break anything...especially your camera. Good luck...and well done. #9087347

I do think that the registering at the office and having the right equipment is escential to having a safe and enjoyable time. I konow you will be getting some incredible pictures and I know all ready that they will be beauties to see.
Love your farewell to fall picture here as you fill the frame with their beuatiful colors and shapes. I love how you have that moss covered rock in the picture for a gorgeous focus point and balance. Love how each season has its own beauty. Such gorgeous work my friend. #9088940

No hot coffee?? That's the only way I'd survive conditions like you describe...well, that and a couple sets of long johns, as Tammy mentioned! :) I love colorful autumn leaves and what a nice surprise to discover a little bit of life left before Old Man Winter blows it all brown and dry (but setting the stage for some wonderful compost in the making for next year!) Beautiful full frame of autumn's best and alas, last for this year! #9089021
