Zion National Park, UT
Weeping Rock is about a half-mile walk round trip from a parking lot, and I was surprised to find no one else there this early morning. The water that oozes out of the rock is said to take about 1000 years to travel through from the top. Moments after taking this shot I walked to the other end of the alcove to compose another when I heard a huge chunk of rock come crashing to the canyon floor below.

Good for you, when we were there it was the wrong time of day for good lighting, I remember the info for the time it took the water to seep through. Not only was the light wrong when we were there, the number of people wandering around on the platform made it impossible to get a good shot. You nailed both of these my friend. #9048292

My goodness, look at those colors. It's a natural watercolor, and that horizontal line in the rock lends this a feeling of mirror image reflection almost. I love your composition here, Marty, with the strong green rising from the lower corner to meet the pastels of the rock strata. #9048404

Marty- That is what we would call a hard hat area with all them falling rocks. From both pictures this place seems to have a lot of fasinating things to see. The name and the water make it all so unique and beautiful at the same time judging from the gorgeous colors and textures. The shape of the rock is beautiful to. A fantastic find and some down right exceptional camera work my friend.
