Rest In Peace

Uploaded: November 16, 2010

Description

Within St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Milledgeville, GA., which dates back to before the civil war, there are several banks of drawers or a mausoleum. This was also the church where Sherman's forces housed their horses as he marched through the south including dumping molasses in the organ. Still this beautiful church survived. I had never seen a mausoleum as part of a church before. 11/16/2010 MT

Really appreciate hearing from you JudyAnn...I found this history of this church extremely interesting including the self contained mausoleum.
