Leaf On Bridge

Uploaded: October 19, 2010

Description

Robert H Treman State Park, NY
We arrived early, but the rains had washed out some tricky passages and we had to wait a bit before the park officially opened. This was part of that play. For this shot I tilted the tilt/shift lens down to pick up the puddle and leaf.

You certainly made the most of the "situation"...the reflection is an intricate part of the composition and adds another "point of interest." The leaf on the railing is a nice touch...excellent work as always, Marty! #1319149

Well, I certainly enjoy what you saw and did with your time waiting. The leading lines, with the leaves on the rail are just great. And the reflection simply makes the shot. It's in a place we don't expect reflections to be and is surprising and snares our attention. #8983330

Oh, Mitch said it so well! "Snared"...that's exactly what the reflective puddle does...snares the attention of the viewer and leads us (along with those great leading lines you are so famous for) right in and over the bridge. The touch of color in the leaves on the rail and the pine needles do a beautiful job as well, inviting us in for a closer look-see. I definitely smell a northeastern autumn - wonderfully wet leaf mold - I love that smell! (Well, you certainly snapped me out of my doldrums with this one, Marty!) #8983582

Marty- These old stone bridges remind me of the area back home where I loved to fish. There was several of them and I always enjoyed their beauty. The composition is beautiful and makes us anxious to get over that bridge and see what awaits us on the other side. Your use of time was well spent and the leaves and water plus some reflection are a gorgeous find. Fantastic camera work my friend.
You have yourself a great day. #8988767

You did a great job capturing the essence of the scene. With the puddle of water and reflections, the textures and lead in lines. Excellent Marty! #8992850
