THE MAKING OF 'Feeling Blue':

My best Port Macquarie Panthers Camera Club mate and I were on a planned day trip scouting our favourite locations for this year's display of spring time wildflowers and we were not disappointed as we found many lovely specimens of a variety of species, none more beautiful as the Tufted Blue Lilies.
The sky was almost completely covered with thin high altitude cloud and the light was diffused enough and the texture of the petals to allow me to use natural light. Even so the light intensity increased as I was preparing to make this shot so a higher shutter speed was required. This also overcame the slight movement of the stem caused by the breeze.
This flower was well isolated and the lens created the lovely creamy smooth bokeh.

Enjoy!

Every month, with our camera in hand, we go out and find what we hope will be the “winning photo.”
Those of us that don’t get recognized, just continue to search for that special image, until one day the Congratulations come pouring in from some of the best artist and friends anyone could image.
So to the Better Photo winners for the month of September, I congratulate you on a job so well done.
My very best to all of you, Merna Nobile
