I love this, Joy! Very home-spun and simple yet beautiful. Did you need to clone out any distractions? #88166

Joy Brown May 26, 2019

Thanks Patricia! As a matter of fact, I did. I'm attaching the original. #88194

Claudia Kuhn level-classic May 26, 2019

Joy -nice simple pic. of the good 'ol days! Well done! #88197

Patricia Marroquin May 26, 2019

Wow, great transformation Joy! Looks like it was a lot of work. You did a fantastic job on it! #88201

Joy Brown May 26, 2019

Thanks, Patricia! It was a lot of work but I love this old couple in their old pick-up! #88205

Donna R. Moratelli May 26, 2019

Wow, How did you learn how to do this? #88225

Joy Brown May 26, 2019

It takes a bit of work but worth it. You have to "isolate" the area you want removed (using the magic wand) and then "clone" in what you want to replace it with using the "clone stamp tool". The worst part is isolating the "garbage." Most of what I have learned on Photoshop is through hit and miss and figuring out what the tools are used for. My son is excellent with this program but he has just given me the basics. I've even amazed myself!!! Your images are amazing - doesn't look like you need too much help!!! If you have any questions, I can try to answer them (don't guarantee I'll know what I'm talking about, but would give it a try). Any time. #88228

Joy Brown May 26, 2019

Almost missed your nice comment, Claudia! Many thanks. #88229

Donna R. Moratelli May 26, 2019

Thanks Joy, Maybe I'll try the hit and miss approach. . That magic wand is a hard tool though. I have never been able to figure it out and it takes forever to do what ever it does. #88232

Joy Brown May 26, 2019

Sometimes if it's a big area you can isolate it by using the lasso tool but you have to have a pretty steady hand and then touch up the other areas afterwards. I'm sure there's a simpler way to do it, but I haven't figured it out, yet!!! #88233

Lorraine T. Lynch May 26, 2019

This is a excellent image Joy...you did really well. A couple days ago I posted "Life In the Fast Lane"....but you have captured this perfectly. #88251

Suzie Strasburg May 26, 2019

Love it!I too am sitting listening to the rain drinking coffee and it too made me smile! Very well done...well worth the effort Joy! #88269

Murry Grigsby May 26, 2019

Joy, I have to comment again now that I've seen the original--very nice PS work but more importantly is that you visualized what a great image you would have when done. It reminds me a bit of when the photographer drove off at the end of "The bridges of Madison county" movie. I also need to mention that if you (anyone) can part with $295.00 (he'll take it in three payments), Jim's PS for Photographers on-line class in very good and will get you over the hump with Photoshop. That's how I finely got so I could use it to my benefit. #88280

Donna R. Moratelli May 26, 2019

I still can't get over what a good job you did on this image. It reminds me of one of the older Chevy adds of the past! How inspiring! #88302

Joy Brown May 26, 2019

Thank you both so much, Suzie and Lorraine. I'm really happy that all of you have seen what I saw when I was in traffic behind this classic couple in their classic chevrolet!

Hey Donna - thank you very much. I'm going to re-enter it tomorrow because I've cleaned it up a little bit more - things I didn't see (probably because I looked at it sooooo long) and then noticed after downloading. Even if it doesn't win anything, it was worth the great comments I have gotten from you and the rest of the wonderful photographers at BP! #88310

Ellen Peach level-classic May 26, 2019

Hi Joy....
"where have I been?" I've just been busy researching lenses, support systems, backpacks, cleaning supplies, etc...will it ever end?? You get a camera...then you need lenses...then you need cleaning materials for cleaning CCDs and lens glass...then you need extra storage...then you need a better tripod...then you need... rechargeable batteries...then you need..........Maybe it will end soon! Thanks for asking! #102577
