These guys sometimes get so heavy laden with pollen from the rose of sharon that they have to fall to the ground and shake some off before flying home.

What an amazing capture! Look at her - she can barely negotiate a lift-off and you caught her in flight, too...well, kinda...she's sure trying but considering the heavy load she's carrying, that might be a little difficult!!! Never in all my (many) born days have I seen a bee so covered in pollen! Excellent work here, Marty - if you set out for a macro of a bee, you couldn't have picked a more spectacular subject and could not have produced a finer capture! Well done, my friend! #8887086
