Description

Creative title, huh? You can see why, when the origianl namers were thinking of a name for this magical place, it was simply named Canyonlands. Here is an evening shot from the top of the Island In The Sky section of Canyonlands NP. No one takes the threat of rain seriously in this part of the country, except as a photo op.

What an outstanding capture and beautiful work, Marty! Love the lighting!! Every time I've been there the haze has been very bad. Need to go when it's raining I guess...Gorgeous image and exceptionally well done!!
I'm not having much time for commenting. We are canning right now and that takes up most of my time. Look in when I can.

Marty- This gorgeous picture just had to be added to my favorites. What incredible camera work you do. The compositon, the gorgeous play of light and shadow, the beautiful depth, the different layers of the rocks and the formations they make, that river running through to canyon, that amazingly gorgeous sky, all make for one award winning work of beauty. Phenominal work my friend. I am going to enjoy this image so many times.
Have a great day my friend, take care, enjoy. #8812085

Oh, Marty...I don't even know where to begin. Breathtaking... but that doesn't even begin to cover it...a grandeur that is almost beyond comprehension...it's hard to take this scene in without a thousand different scattered wonderful thoughts crossing your mind. Remarkable, outstanding work. If you set out and hoped to make the perfect capture that leaves one speechless from it's very impact, you've done just that beautifully. Fav'd. #8818495

Hi Marty
I sure love this, the shadows, the light streaming through the clouds. The Grandeur of it all. Must be an awesome feeling to stand as witness to this. #8827243
