Fractalius Flower
Uploaded: August 03, 2010
A friend of mine bought me a plug-in and told me I'd love it. Now, I usually don't even move twigs from what I find to photopgraph so I figured he really didn't know me at all. Well, I DID have some fun with it, and posted a couple galleries ~mostly of flowers. I chose this one because of the selected CENTER.
Original in comments.
f/16, 1/2, 24-105mm at 105mm, ISO 100, tripod, + playing with the Fractalius plug-in (If anyone would ever like the exact settings for this look, let me know. Putting the mumbers here would be gibberish.)

I'm totally with you on the leaving things as you saw them, but it's also fun to play with filters every once in a while. I don't have this one, but I love the effects. Great job here! #8803686Carol L. Fowler August 03, 2010
Wonderfully creative with the raised center and fractalius around. #8803748Julianne Bradford August 03, 2010
Wonderful stain glass FX with the frac filter Marty. Great use to emphasize the center as 3D :-) #8803919Jack Ryan August 03, 2010

Choosing this flower really worked well with this filter, Marty! Love the bright color and effect!! Beautiful image!! #8804265frank w. degenhardt August 03, 2010
Marty- You have used the filter to show that you can take a beautiful picture and make it even more so with some little touches. I just love the way the colors glow and radiate with the touchup. It gives it a more dazzling look. I also like that you used the frac in moderation. Using filters I am learning, has to be controled. Love the full frame of these beauties, such an artful presentation that would brighten and cheer up any wall. Fantastic my friend.Randy D. Dinkins August 03, 2010
Perfect for MT. I too really to like the Frac filter and have done some really interesting and fun images with it. However, haven't done much since I switched to the Mac as the Frac filter only works in Windows. #8804454Kitty R. Rodehorst-Hanna August 03, 2010

I agree...many cool things to experiment with in photography and using filters to enhance a mood or get a different look is always a good thing, IMO. I'm definitely not a puritan when it comes to editing! :) Great use of this filter, Marty - dazzling effect and colors! #8808036Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
