About Ron Clinger
Ron's photography can be found in homes, churches and businesses as portraits and limited-edition prints all over the nation. Although he specializes in fine portraiture, he is also known for his contemporary, as well as, Victorian styles of children, family, commercial, nature and creative works of art including fine oil portraits by his wife, Terry Lee. At an early age, Ron was taught that we all have a responsibility to protect the world around us. Before conservation became a catch word, he knew to respect the woods and its creatures. Growing up in Boy Scouting helped nurture his love for God's creation while teaching leadership skills that would be useful in the years ahead. For over forty years he has focused his energy on creating beautiful images to share with those around him. He has been blessed on many occasions to be in the company of wildlife at its most precious moments. He is a member of PPA and a past member of TPPA, MCPPA & NAMPA and has contributed images and feature articles to several outdoor, nature and sporting publications and books. He was awarded the "Stan Baker" Award for 2005 and was a finalist in "Nature Photography" Magazine's "Best of 2000" contest. You will find his work published in calendars, greeting cards, corporate publications and commercial advertising as well as interior design with his Limited-Edition prints. Ron's clients are more than customers; they become dear friends with whom he can share his love for nature and God's grace. He has had studios in the Nashville/Franklin/Springhill TN area and had the privilege to be able to work with those in the music industry and Vanderbilt and Baptist Hospitals for charity and promotional campaigns. Although he has used Canon and Fuji equipment in the past, he now, shoots with a Nikon. He is the proud father of two and the grandfather of 5 awesome grandchildren. He has been married to his high school sweetheart for 47 years and she joins him in the studio and location to not only shoot, but to be "sherpa", "baby wrangler" and "first aid distributer" as he strives to get that perfect shot...even if it means she has to hold his beltloop as he leans out over the ledge to get that pristine, precise image of the waterfalls! Whether he is photographing in studio or in the quiet of the mountains, Ron tries to capture that perfect moment that just may not be a big smile or the perfect pose...but the image that captures your emotions. He has a heart for missions and was the photographer on a trip to Mexico...he came back saying that he was forever changed and that everyone should have the chance to be on the mission field. There, he captured the need, the hope and the joy of the people they served. The images he brought back showed a people rich in family, hope and faith...meeting them made him and those with him all the better for it. His favorite saying sums up the reason for his passion for photography..."Don't wait...Today's innocence will be gone tomorrow!"
