Thanks Lynne, Paula, Charlene, and Amy. This is the latest rendering of sixteen 8MB RAW pictures that make up the panorarama. The project is about 6 months old, and has included 5 learning trips to Chicago to study lighting, wind, artificial horizon, and freezing temps. This sequence was shot at about 10:30 pm on a Friday night.

Thanks to Janine, Colleen, Diane, Lynne, Charlene and Nadya. Nadya, I think one sure way to slip past the radar, is to enter the contest via your gallery. It seems that if you saved a picture to your gallery 2 weeks ago, and entered it into the contest today, it would bypass the "incoming photos" and fall in place with photos that were "incoming" 2 weeks ago. So, you can just about guarantee that nobody will comment on your photo, good or bad. Getting too technical here...thanks again.

Congrats on the 2nd place winning of this photo. Personally I think it should have been the grand prize winner. It is fabulous! It is amazing that you used 8 photos to make this one. What program did you use to stitch it all together so seamlessly? Gorgeous everything!!!!

  Thank you Michele,
Actually it started out as 16 photos. I used photoshop to merge the 16 RAW frames. Each one was 8+ megs, so the automatic photomerge ran out of gas, even though my computer has 4 GB of RAM.
So, it took about 3 weeks of after hours work to manually merge the frames.
Each frame lost from 10% to 50% in width to correct for barrel distortion, keystoning, etc. Grand prize winner? Nah! Not creative enough ;o)
