I agree with Michelle -- super composition here. The birds are brilliantly placed and I adore lines of the irrigated furrows. Beautiful sky, too. Where are we?

I had to visit your gallery after all your kind words about my work - and I got blown away by alle the great pictures you show here.

Your landscapes are outstanding and this one caught my attention at once. Colors, composition and lighting is spot on - and the birds are exactly where they should be (Did you place them there or was mother nature being helpful?)

Thank you Stefan. This is the second version of an image I took one morning in Tulare, California. In the original there were a line of trees in the distant horizon. I removed those, added the sky, and placed the birds.

The furrows were enhanced using a combination of blends etc in PSE7.

Also had some helpful input from the BP club I belong to called "Phello Photographers" We each post a new image about once a week and are required to critique each entry. It's amazing how much one can learn when hearing lots of views.

Thank you Nikki. I so enjoyed your gallery. One that really stuck with me was "Framework" You have such a wide variety of subjects and techniques. I'm very impressed.

By the way I see you use the Sony as well. I'm still using the DSC-R1 and H2. Haven't advanced to the a DSLR yet. Too much $$$ for me and too much stuff to carry.

Hi Jeana. How nice of you to comment. Had no idea you used the same camera when I placed you on my favorites list some time ago. I need to go through my favorite galleries more often it seems.

Was especially pleased with images such as "Watching over you" and "Summer Breeze". By the way, didn't I comment on "Soda Shoppe" in the Sony forum over a year or so ago? That image looks familiar.

Almost forgot. I use PhotoShop Elements 7. Would get good use out of regular PhotoShop but, like the camera, $$$$'s control that situation. And congratulations on all the array of finalists and wins. Very well deserved.
