Thank you all for the great comments on this picture. Learning about this honor was a pleasant surprise upon return from camping and shooting in the White Mountains in New Hampshire last week. The shot was taken on a trip to Alaska where I spend a week just shooting bald eagles. I literally crawled slowly on my belly to get close enough for this shot -- a moment I will always remember.
